Senegal in quartes finals. After Larsson scored first for Sweden it was Henry Camara to egalize. 1 to 1 after the regular 90 minutes, extra times were played. Henry Camara scored again and became a national Hero for Senegal who will match the winner of the Japan - Turkey game in quarter finals.

France and Uruguay eliminated
France become the first defending champions since Brazil in 1966 to fail to advance to the second round of the FIFA World Cup. Destiny seemed to announced loudly that it was plainly against France when Trezeguet had his shot hit the underside of the crossbar and bounce down centimetres in front of the goal line. France is eliminated, after hitting six times the bar in three games, but no scoring a single goal.. Denmark qualify as first of group A and will match second placed of group F.

Paolo Maldini, the veteran italian left defender and captain could miss Italy-Croatia game after twisting an ankle in training.
